An 87-year-old east Suffolk man accused of a string of sex offences against two schoolgirls told police he wasn’t sexually attracted to children. During questioning by officers Brian Taylor-Shale, formerly of Felixstowe, denied showing one of the girls naked pictures of men and women and making her take her clothes off, Ipswich Crown Court heard. He also denied removing his own clothes and making the girl perform a sex act on him when she was five.

Taylor-Shale of Pond Lane, Lower Holton, Halesworth, has pleaded not guilty to three offences of indecent assault dating back to 1977 in respect of one alleged victim and three offences of oral rape of a child under 13 and an offence of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity between 2007 and 2014 in respect of the other alleged victim. It has been alleged that Taylor-Shale had allegedly told the second alleged victim that he wanted to teach her how to kiss and had laid on top of her and kissed her on the lips and put his tongue in her mouth. Following his arrest, Taylor-Shale denied all the allegations and suggested that one of them had made them up to get compensation.
