Man, 53, who died after single-vehicle crash in Scotland named

A man who died following a crash in Renfrewshire has been named by police. The single-vehicle collision happened on Beith Road in Johnstone at around 2am on Saturday November 9. Police said Gary Sim, 53, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he was pronounced dead.

Officers said inquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances. Road Policing Constable Stewart Brown said: “Our thoughts are with Gary’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time and we continue to offer them support as our inquiries progress. “I’d like to thank the local community for their patience while the road was closed and also to members of the public who provided information.



” Mr Sim was from the local area. The road was closed for investigations following the crash and reopened at around 7.50am on Sunday.
