A 20-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle crash in Mississauga earlier this week, Peel Regional Police say. The crash between a blue Mazda 3 sedan and a silver Jeep Cherokee happened in the intersection of Erin Mills Parkway and Vista Boulevard at about 1:50 p.m.
on Tuesday, police said in a news release Thursday. Police say the Mazda driver and passenger were seriously hurt and taken to hospital. The passenger has since died of his injuries, while the driver's condition is not known.
The Mazda was northbound on Erin Mills Parkway, when it collided with a southbound Jeep Cherokee that was making a left turn onto Vista Boulevard, police say. The Mazda driver lost control after the collision and hit a pole. "The speed of the Mazda is considered a primary factor in this collision," police said in the release.
Police say they have since learned a third vehicle, a Grey late model Audi A7 sedan, was seen heading northbound on Erin Mills Parkway at the time of the crash. Investigators would like to speak to its driver. Any witnesses, or drivers with dashboard camera footage, who may have been on Erin Mills Parkway during the time of the crash are being asked to contact police.
