Deputy Commissioner S. Vinod Kumar stated that Sultana had been under observation for three months and had established connections within the Malayalam film industry. Sultana, originally from Kannur, operated primarily from Chennai, frequently travelling to Kochi and Alappuzha—areas suspected to be central to her distribution network.

Her involvement in minor film roles is believed to have facilitated relationships with industry figures, including alleged clients Chacko and Bhasi. In response to the recent allegations, Bhasi called the whole incident rubbish and alleged people of fabricating news. The actor said he wouldn’t be responding further on this issue, as reported by Kerala Kaumudi.
