Bango mentioned that the stadium experienced poor network access during football games. In his remarks, Minister of information,Moses kunkuyu said Malawi government has embarked on planting towers in the country to improve mobile network coverage. He dismissed allegations that phone networks are linked to systematic activities and stated that the towers are clean.

He asserted that the issues with the Bingu stadium networks during games are linked to extensive coverage and the use of the networks by individuals, similar to what occurs in Parliament. The country is experiencing phone network tripping almost twice a week. Later, mobile operators, especially Airtel, issued an apology.
