Malaika Arora, a witness in the 2012 hotel brawl case involving Saif Ali Khan, has had a bailable warrant reissued against her by a Mumbai magistrate court after her failure to appear in court despite previous summons. The testimony of the witnesses in the case is currently under Chief Judicial Magistrate K S Zanwar. As per reports, a bailable warrant was issued against Malaika Arora by the court on March 15 due to her failure to appear as a witness, alongside her sister Amrita Arora Ladakh.
However, Amrita did appear and testify as a witness on March 29. Taking a note of Malaika Arora absence, the court has reissued a bailable warrant of Rs 5000 for the incident dated back to February 22, 2012. The authority has also directed that the warrant report must be submitted by April 29, 2025.
So, what is the Saif Ali Khan Hotel Brawl Case? Actually, in 2012, Saif Ali Khan and his group of friends were dining at a five star hotel in Mumbai. The environment changed when Iqbal Mir Sharma, a South African businessman of Indian origin complained about the loud conversation from the star’s table. As per the complaint, Saif Ali Khan reacted aggressively to the complaint.
He allegedly threatened Iqbal Mir before punching him in the nose, which caused a fracture. The complaint also accused Saif and his group for physically assaulting his father-in-law Raman Patel. At the time of the incident, Saif was accompanied by Kareena Kapoor Khan, her sister Karisma Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora and some other friends.
Malaika Arora was an eyewitness to the incident as she was present on the table when the brawl broke out. Saif Ali Khan, along with his friends Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amrohi, was arrested and later released on bail after a 2012 brawl at a Mumbai hotel. The trio faced charges under Section 325 of the Indian Penal Code, related to causing grievous hurt, after allegedly assaulting Iqbal Mir Sharma, a South African businessman of Indian origin.
