President-elect Donald Trump announced Monday that Fox Business host and former Republican Wisconsin Rep. Sean Duffy is his pick to serve as the U.S.

Secretary of Transportation. Duffy, who has been a contributor to Fox News and co-hosts “The Bottom Line” on Fox Business, served in the House for nine years before venturing into media. Trump took to Truth Social to release a statement on his choice of Duffy, stating he will “prioritize Excellence, Competence Competitiveness and Beauty when rebuilding America’s highways, tunnels, bridges and airports.

During his time in office, the former representative served on multiple committees, sitting as a member of the House Financial Services Committee, Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Insurance and Housing and Chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. The Fox Business co-host additionally served as Ashland County, Wisconsin’s District Attorney, dedicating his time and resources in the position to address child sex crimes, according to Fox News. At the time, Duffy had paired with law enforcement, eventually leading Ashland County to become one of the first counties in Wisconsin to investigate and prosecute child Internet sex crimes, the outlet reported.

Duffy is married to “FOX & Friends Weekend” co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy. They share nine children together and co-authored a book in 2021.
