The Americans are not allowed to produce more than 9.5 liters (2.5 gallons) of water per minute from showerheads under a 1992 energy law.
During Barack Obama’s presidency, the regulation was redefined under an Energy Conservation Program, applying the restriction to the overall showerhead rather than a single nozzle. While Trump tried to override it during his presidential term in 2020, his successor, Joe Biden, reverted back to the convention, which the Trump camp dubbed a “war on showers.” The current Trump administration believes citizens have the right to use water as they like to, as they pay for their own water.
