College football's Week 13 slate featured some incredible conference battles, many of which came down to the wire. A matchup between the No. 14 BYU Cougars and No.

21 Arizona State Sun Devils had one of the most chaotic endings of a college football game during the 2024 season. The Sun Devils had possession with seven seconds left on the game clock. ASU quarterback Jake Retzlaff snapped the ball and dropped back while heaving the ball out of bounds to play down the clock.

After this play, Sun Devils fans stormed the field to celebrate the ranked upset, but the officiating crew reviewed the play and discovered that there was one second left on the clock. Officials had to force fans back into the stands of Mountain America Stadium to give BYU a chance to win the game down, 28-23 with one second remaining. They were ultimately unsuccessful and ASU would go on to re-storm the field after the play.

During the officials' review of the clock, ASU head coach Kenny Dillingham went on a tirade rant, yelling at the crew in front of fans and his wife, Briana Dillingham. Kenny Dillingham with his wife right next to him as the refs tell him there’s still 1 second on the clock. “There’s no way.
