A MAJOR boost has been announced for health care workers as an Irish firm announce 1,500 new job roles across Ireland.Dovida currently provides person-centred home care services to almost 8,000 people across Ireland.Some 1,500 new home care roles have been announceddovida.
ieThe new roles will be a combination of full and part-time positions for caregivers.The firm will offer competitive rates of pay, flexible schedules, and comprehensive, sector-leading training through the Home Care Professionals Academy.Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, Peter Burke, welcomed the announcement at the launch of Dovida’s Midlands hub in Westmeath yesterday.
He said: “This is a very positive development for communities across the country, particularly here in the Midlands. “Carers play an essential role in society, supporting people to live independently and with dignity in their own homes. “Dovida’s commitment to high-quality care and the creation of up to 1,500 jobs is a real boost – not only in terms of employment but also in the standard of support available to individuals and families.
”The minister said it’s “great to see” Dovida’s continued investment in care, in people, and in local jobs.Dovida, which has been providing care to ageing adults in Ireland since 2005, recently rebranded from Home Instead.Historically, the majority of the organisation’s client base consisted of people in the over-65 age group.
However, they now cares for people of all ages, with 10 per cent under 65, while children under 18 make up one per cent of people cared for. CEO of Dovida Ireland, Shane Jennings, said: “This is an exciting time to join Dovida, and I am delighted to be able to make this announcement today. “Our caregivers provide a vital service and make a tangible difference in the lives of people in communities all over Ireland.
