Nigerian troops have neutralized 96 terrorists and apprehended 227 suspects in operations conducted in the country’s northern region. This is in a significant boost to national security. Maisaje is a close associate of Kachalla Boka, a high-profile terrorist leader. “The arrest of Usman Maisaje has been rewarding in intelligence value, as he is cooperating and providing troops with much-needed intelligence for further operations,” Major General Edward stated. – Economic Gains: In the South-South region, troops recovered crude oil worth N712 million and apprehended 45 suspected oil thieves. – Infrastructure Destruction: Troops destroyed 4 dugout pits, 48 boats, 52 drums and 38 storage tanks in the Niger Delta area, disrupting illegal oil refining operations. – Recovery of Stolen Goods: 712,535 litres of stolen crude oil and 76,800 litres of illegally refined AGO were recovered.

– Weapon Seizures: 71 assorted weapons and 1,463 ammunition, including 50 AK47 rifles and 16 fabricated rifles, were seized. Major General Edward emphasized the military’s commitment to protecting lives, property and national territorial integrity. These successes demonstrate the effectiveness of the Nigerian Army’s counter-terrorism efforts, reassuring citizens of their safety and security.
