The grainy, 27-year-old footage of the bombed out market town of Omagh is no less horrific with the passage of time. We see a dazed woman stumbling around putting bloody arms to her head like she’s checking it’s still there, surveying the carnage around her. The monochrome faces look like they had been dipped in flour dust, rather than building particles blown asunder.

The shop alarms wail like demented sirens, mixed with voices amid chaos calling for help. Devastation doesn’t cover it..
