With warm weather starting to arrive in Vancouver, many folks (including us) are looking forward to sitting back at one of the many waterfront patios that the city has to offer. We are so grateful for the friendships, memories, and support over the last decade, and we look forward to continuing the journey with you downtown,” said Mahony.WHAT’S NEXT FOR THE LOCATION?With Mahony’s Tavern announcing the closure of its False Creek spot, we have also received word that a new bohemian-inspired concept called Mishree on the Water will open in its place. This concept is brought to us by Mishree Restaurant Concepts, which operates multiple restaurants like Tandoori Flame and Happy Singh Eats, to name just a few.The managing director at Mishree Restaurant Concepts, Shraey Gulati, confirmed the news with Dished and also provided more information on the new restaurant. He shared that the transition to Mishree on the Water will first start with a patio pop-up experience called The Bae Side.“This concept introduces an evolved food menu and a focus on craft cocktails, curated by Mishree Cocktails & Cuisine,” said Gulati. He also added that a special cocktail menu crafted by Mishree’s beverage director, Vijay Purty, will be available to elevate the dining experience. After the pop-up, the restaurant will close for significant renovations from October 2025 to Spring 2026. Gulati said that $5 to $6 million will be invested to renovate the space. Once completed, guests can expect to find an 11,000 sq. ft indoor space, a second-floor bohemian/Tulum-inspired elevated event space with a capacity of 250 guests, and a ground floor with an extended covered patio, offering seating for approximately 500 guests.
