Mahim assembly election results 2024: Amit Thackeray trails against Mahesh Sawant

Amit Thackeray, son of MNS chief Raj Thackeray, trailed in early vote counting for Mumbai's Mahim constituency. The ruling BJP-led Mahayuti alliance, of which MNS is a part, showed strong performance across Maharashtra, leading in a majority of assembly seats. Meanwhile, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi lagged behind in early trends.

NEW DELHI: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray 's son Amit Thackeray , is trailing in Mumbai's Mahim assembly constituency. His main opponents are Mahesh Sawant from Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sada Sarvankar from Shiv Sena. Electoral Commission data shows Amit Raj Thackeray received 8,269 votes, falling behind Sawant and Sarvankar who secured 19,562 and 11,732 votes respectively.

Amit Thackeray's party maintains an alliance with the BJP-led Mahayuti coalition . Election Commission data indicates that within Mahayuti, BJP led in 128 seats, whilst Shiv Sena and NCP led in 55 and 35 seats respectively. In MVA, NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) led in 13 seats, Congress in 20, and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) in 17 seats. Shiv Sena (UBT) representative Aaditya Thackeray led by 495 votes in Mumbai's Worli assembly seat. Former minister Balasaheb Thorat trailed by 1,831 votes in Sangamner. Vote counting commenced at 8 am on Saturday, November 20, with 66.
