Maharashtra Elections: Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched Bharatiya Janata Party's 'Sankalp Patra' for Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024, in Mumbai, on Sunday. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, state BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar, Union Minister Piyush Goyal and other leaders of the party were present at the occasion. “BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ manifesto for November 20 Maharashtra assembly polls reflects aspirations of people of the state.
Maha Vikas Aghadi's schemes are formed in the greed of power, it is appeasement and an insult to ideologies.”, said Amit Shah. "Maharashtra has been the leading state in many areas across different eras.
When it was needed, Bhakti Andolan was started here, Shivaji Maharaj started his movement from here. We talked farmers', poor's welfare, there are schemes proposed for women empowerment. I am very happy that first time a J&K CM took oath by the Constitution.
There are also schemes for a strong, and well-off Maharashtra," Amit Shah added. Senior BJP minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, who headed the committee to make the manifesto, emphasised the party's commitment to Maharashtra’s development, highlighting the achievements of the current Mahayuti government. "This manifesto is dedicated to the people of Maharashtra.
Under our leadership, the state's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) has seen significant growth. A Mahayuti government is crucial for the state's economic progress. Our double-engine government has been instrumental in enhancing road infrastructure, adding more highways to improve connectivity," Mungantiwar said.
Congress has already released its manifesto on November 6, promising five key guarantees for Maharashtra. These include -- ₹ 3,000 per month to women and free bus travel for women and girls under Mahalakshmi Yojana, loan waiver of up to ₹ 3 lakh to farmers and an incentive of ₹ 50,000 for regular loan repayment, caste-wise census, removal of 50 per cent reservation limit and health insurance up to ₹ 25 lakh and free medicines and assistance up to ₹ 4000 per month to unemployed youth. The Maharashtra Assembly elections will take place on November 20, with the counting of votes for all 288 constituencies set for November 23.
In the 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena secured 56, and Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP won 122 seats, Shiv Sena 63, and Congress 42..
