Prayagraj: The Mahanirvani Akhara 's procession for Chaavani Pravesh in Maha Kumbh will follow an alternative route this year. The seers will now proceed via Daraganj Police Station and Ganga Square, deviating from the customary Niranjani Akhara route. The procession is scheduled to commence from Mahanirvani Vatika Baghambari Road on Jan 2 at 9am.
Traditionally, the Chaavani Pravesh procession route remains unaltered. However, the ongoing construction of a new railway bridge has necessitated this change. Previously, the procession began at Baghambari Road Mahanirvani Vatika, proceeding through Bakshi Dam, Nirala Marg to Nirala Chowk, and passed Daraganj Railway Station to the dam, before entering the cantonment via Triveni Marg.
The procession will now start from Mahanirvani Vatika, proceed to Bakshi Dam and Nirala Marg, but will turn left at Nirala Square towards Daraganj Police Station instead of going behind it. The procession will pass behind the Ganga statue, proceeding along the riverbank via Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple to reach the Triveni pontoon bridge. Mahanirvani Akhara secretary Srimahant Yamuna Puri has confirmed the implementation of this new route for entry.
Prior to this, the Dharma Dhwaj will be installed in the fair camp on Dec 22. Stay updated with the latest news on Times of India . Don't miss daily games like Crossword , Sudoku , and Mini Crossword .
