Viewers have been gripped by the latest series of Married At First Sight where 22 singles attempted to find a connection - and the show has been filled with tears, heartbreak and of course, love. The ninth series saw the return of experts, Paul C Brunson , Mel Schilling and Charlene Douglas who welcomed the singles and attempted to marry them to their perfect match. Of course, it hasn't all been smooth sailing with couples having fiery arguments, breakups and awkward family encounters.
With both the series finale and the reunion fast approaching - let's see where the 2024 marriages are so far...
Richelle and Orson were the oldest contestants in the series, and had a very fiery relationship from the very start which resulted in big clashes. After a tense exchange on their honeymoon, Richelle refused to move in with the groom. The pair left in Week 4 and during their final commitment ceremony, it emerged that Orson and another bride, Hannah, had shared a kiss whilst on the retreat.
Orson admitted: "On the last night of the retreat me and Hannah were speaking and we shared a kiss. There was a little connection there. I'm not going to lie.
" VERDICT: Looked rocky from the start - and then it got worse. Polly and Adam had a tricky start to their marriage after the groom admitted Polly wasn't his 'usual type'. Adam's comment eventually made it back to Polly leaving her distraught.
However, the pair decided to remain in the experiment and have been continuing to grow closer every week. With the series still on air, it's unclear whether Adam and Polly are still an item. It's expected that the couple will reveal their relationship status once their final scenes have been broadcast.
Yesterday she described their relationship as "a roller coaster" but added: "I'd certainly queue again" - and signing off the message with a love heart. Verdict: High hopes these two are still an item. Another couple who had a difficult start to their marriage are Caspar and Emma.
On the wedding day, Emma was smitten, but Caspar struggled to connect to his bride as she closely resembled his sister. On their honeymoon to Jamaica, Caspar confessed to Emma that he had been struggling to find a 'spark'. Caspar told Emma she reminded him of his sister explaining: "Watching you and her laugh together, there's an element and sort of mannerisms - I'm equating one with the other and it's not good.
" Caspar and Emma left after the Week 5 committment ceremony after failing to find a romantic connection. Verdict: Emma said it best herself when she broke down in tears and admitted: "It's over!" In one of the most heartbreaking episodes, fan-favourites Kristina and Kieran called it quits. The pair had a strong connection straightaway with Kieran wearing a pair of fake teeth to surprise his new bride - which was met by laughter by Kristina.
Having previously opened up about how Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) has affected her life and relationships, an emotional Kristina confessed: "I'm a lot, I know I am, I just want to be loved that's all it is." She added in an emotional six-word admission: "I just want to be loved". In a shock twist, Kieran and Kristina both decided to leave the experiment .
Rumours had been circulating that Kieran had moved on with either Polly or Sacha after spending time with them after the show. But Kieran has denied the speculation and shut down the rumours. VERDICT: The teeth were MAFS gold, but the relationship wasn't.
Eve and Charlie were the very first couple to leave the experiment. Despite the instant attraction between them, the pair clashed on their honeymoon and failed to get back on track. The couple left in Week 2 after living apart during the experiment.
Charlie has since moved on and has met someone new. The MAFS star recently went Instagram official with her new girlfriend, Philly, and alongside it wrote " #hardlaunch #girlfriend." VERDICT: Short and sweet.
Alex and Holly are seemingly the first success story of the series. The couples actually didn't make it to the end of the series and decided to leave after a blazing row. Alex sharing on Instagram shortly after the episode aired: "Unfortunately, it just wasn’t meant to be.
A lot of people wanted me and Holly to last the test of time, at times I wish we could have too. We shared some great memories together on and off camera. I wish Holly nothing but the best in the future, she deserves it! Speak to you all real soon! Love.
" However, in a shocking turn of events the bride and groom have since reunited and were spotted kissing on a night out in Manchester much to the delights of fans. VERDICT: A rare MAFS success story. Things got off to an awkward start for Nathan and Lacey, after the groom mistook the bride's sister for his wife.
Luckily the pair began to bond and went into their honeymoon excited for their future. There have been a few hiccups for the couple, including the moment Nathan left Lacey's mum in tears after insulting her cooking. Nathan and Lacey have since gone on their final date where Nathan told his wife: “Sometimes I feel like a distant star alone in the universe, when I feel the light of your affection I know that you’re here with me and when I look into your eyes I see the universe reflected.
” VERDICT: We really hope these two go the distance. Ross and Sacha got off to a great start when the pair were equally happy with their partner. And w hile Sacha was concerned her celibacy would chase her husband away, Ross was keen to get to know his wife better.
The pair have struggled as they look to the future with Sacha wanting to live near her family in Walsall, but Ross needing to stay close to his daughter and suggesting they move to Manchester. But it seems that the pair have split after the experiment with Ross revealing he's found love with a new lady, Magda , and they've made their relationship Instagram official. Ross is clearly smitten, declaring his love for Magda on Facebook.
He's shared several cosy snaps of them together, along with screenshots of their sweet exchanges. One message read "you're the best", to which she responded "You're welcome, you can keep me forever." Ross even added an 'M' initial to his Instagram bio, and Magda reciprocated.
VERDICT: High hopes dashed. Luke and Amy were the first late arrivals on the show. They had a slightly awkward start when Amy admitted she was getting the 'ick' from Luke and his loved-up comments.
At the moment, it isn't clear is if these two are still together or not, however they do follow each other on Instagram and often leave sweet messages for their spouse in their comment sections. VERDICT: Things are looking good. Sparks flew between another late couple, Hannah and Stephen, but their romance went swiftly downhill after that.
The pair argued constantly on their honeymoon and further clashed when Hannah 'threatened' to reveal Stephen's family secret on camera. The situation worsened when Hannah was accused of 'flirting' with both Ryan and Orson. It's since been revealed that Hannah will enter the reunion as a couple with co-star Ryan which leaves everyone stunned.
VERDICT: She's found love (just not with him) Ryan and Sionainn seemed like a match made in heaven, and at first, they were. Following an off-camera row, the pair decided to immediately leave the experiment. Telling his fellow grooms what happened, Ryan then declared: "I'm leaving boys.
" He added: "We've had a proper argument and I was trying to do my laces. I was trying to retie my laces and it was getting on my nerves. So Sionainn was trying to help me.
"So I said, ‘oh, just leave him, just leave them now’ And she said, ‘Oh, don't speak to me like that’. She said to me she doesn't feel comfortable in the relationship and she doesn't know if I'm here for a genuine reason." Whilst Ryan will return to the reunion with fellow bride, Hannah , it seems Sionainn remains single.
VERDICT: Another bride swap means these two are finished..
