MAFS’ Dave Hand Is Appearing On The Block, But Not In The Way You’d Think

Well, that didn’t take long. The confetti from the Married At First Sight finale has barely settled, and Dave Hand has already found himself another reality TV gig. The fan favourite (turned not-so favourite) groom has announced he’ll be making a cameo on the 2025 season of The Block, which is currently filming in the scenic, slightly chilly surrounds of Daylesford, Victoria.

Dave, the bloke who owns Silicone Valley Caulking (which is honestly a top-tier business name), is swapping wedding drama for renovation chaos. He broke the news on Instagram this week, sharing a snap of himself in hi-vis with The Block’s Foreman Dan Reilly and tiler Adrian Cursio.



The trio were grinning outside McCafé, looking like they were about to drop the hottest tradie mixtape of the year. Dave isn’t joining as a contestant, he’s just making a quick cameo as a tradesman. “Pretty cool to get a photo with Dan to be honest, I’ve watched him for years,” Dave admitted to Yahoo Lifestyle. “I’m just there working and helping out some friends.

Can’t say too much, but it was super fun. I’m just a tradesman working like all the other boys on site.”So, no, we won’t be seeing Dave arguing over paint colours or getting roasted by Shaynna Blaze for his questionable styling choices.

But would he ever want to compete on The Block for real? The answer was a solid maybe, but [he’s] not holding [his] your breath”. [And in news that will surprise no one, Dave even reckons he’d love to team up with his MAFS bestie Billy Belcher. But for now, he’s got other things on his to-do list.

While it’s unlikely they’ll pop up this season (filming’s already underway), both Rhi and Jeff are actually keen.

“When I saw the rumours, I actually got a little bit excited,” Jeff said to Yahoo. “I thought it’d be a great fit for us to go on The Block. It’s a show that I’ve actually watched for a few years and I find it really entertaining.

I had a great experience with what we just went through on Married At First Sight personally, and I love Channel Nine and all the production there. I think it’s a great fit, so who knows what will happen down the track?”So glad they made it. (Image: Nine)And Rhi? She’s ready to roll, even if her reno skills are a work in progress.

“I’m not sure how handy I would be, but I’m sure I could paint,” she joked. “I’ve expressed my resilience during the MAFS experiment, so I feel like I could be just as resilient on The Block and just pull out some things I never knew I could do. So yeah, I’d definitely give it a go.
