Between Jacqui Burfoot and Ryan Donnelly ’s screaming match and Awhina Rutene and Sierah Swepstone ’s war of words, Sunday night’s episode of Married At First Sight was filled with plenty of dramatic moments. The highly-anticipated reunion was the first time the cast had seen each other since the experiment ended four weeks earlier, and many participants arrived determined to get things off their chest. While not every conversation or fiery argument could be shown on TV, Carina Mirabile has since revealed a handful of scenes that were edited out of the episode.
The glamorous bride tells Yahoo Lifestyle that one moment she was surprised viewers didn’t get to see was her apology to Awhina for comments she had made about her twin sister Cleo during filming. RELATED: Carina came under fire during the Partner Swap challenge when her partner Paul Antoine told Awhina that she had insulted Cleo, who had dated Paul before the show, and said she didn’t think Paul “would go for that calibre” of partner . “Awhina and I did speak a bit.
She pulled me aside at the cocktail party and we had another conversation about her sister, Cleo,” she details. “We broke down that conversation and really just gave each other that confidence and that apology. I kept apologising to her and saying that I'm sorry for making that comment, and it's not women empowering or uplifting to any female, and I can understand how it can affect your sister.
” Billy's failed attempt to 'stir the pot' Another moment that wasn’t shown in Sunday night’s episode was Billy Belcher ’s proposal to Carina that they enter the dinner party together and pretend to be a couple to “stir the pot”. “Billy did mention something like that, but I was like, ‘Absolutely not’,” she reveals. “I'm not one of those girls, I'm not doing that and I don't have those types of feelings.
As a friendship, absolutely, but I’m not stirring any pot.” Carina asserts that despite rumours of a romance between them, she and Billy are “very much just friends”. “I actually sat next to Billy [at the reunion] because I have a good friendship with him.
He's a nice dude, easy to banter with, easy to get along with, and he’s from Perth, so we’re living in the same city,” she shares. The MAFS stars who boycotted the reunion While the reunion dinner party featured a majority of the show’s participants sitting around the dinner table, four cast members were noticeably absent. Morena Farina, Lauren Hall, Tim Gromie and Jake Luik all chose to boycott the event , which Carina admits took her by surprise.
“I was expecting them to walk in, I thought it was part of the obligation,” she remarks. “Obviously, for them to experience what they've experienced and gone through the journey, the least they could do was come together at the reunion and just show face. “But I guess everyone's different and people react differently and have different personalities.
They obviously didn’t come and didn't want to see everyone, which was a little bit disappointing.” SHOP: Carina adds that despite sticking up for Lauren on the couples retreat , she hasn’t stayed in touch with the controversial bride since filming the show. “I haven't heard from Lauren, I don’t speak to her,” she says.
“My closest friends are Rhi [Disljenkovic] and Jeff [Gobbels] in just every aspect. We're so similar, we have similar interests, and I just really gravitate towards them.” “ Jamie [Marinos] and I are sweet.
I value her as a friend, but I'm not the closest with her. I think it is a little bit divided with Awhina, Beth [Kelly] and Jamie, and that's okay. Those three are a lot closer, and I'm close with Rhi and Ash [Ackerman] and Katie [Johnstone].
But we’re all civil.” Want the latest lifestyle and entertainment news? Make sure you are following us on Facebook , Instagram and TikTok and don't forget to subscribe to our newsletter..
