Legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja recently visited Hyderabad to lend his support to budding talent, gracing the teaser launch of his upcoming Telugu film Shashtipoorthi . The maestro's presence added gravitas to the event, where he expressed his commitment to encouraging the younger generation of artists. Speaking at the event, Ilaiyaraaja shared his motivation behind promoting the film: “The team behind Shashtipoorthi is young, passionate, and incredibly talented.
I wanted to be here to support them. You’ve enjoyed my music for many years, and I promise to keep delivering melodies you’ll cherish—starting with this film.” Adding more musical magic to the event, Oscar-winning composer M.
M. Keeravani also attended. He penned the lyrics for the song Edo Ededo from the film’s soundtrack and said the song captures the essence of the film while reflecting his deep admiration for Ilaiyaraaja.
“It’s more than just a song—it’s an emotion and a tribute,” he said. Ilaiyaraaja’s legacy in Telugu cinema is nothing short of iconic. From the late ’70s through the ’90s, he crafted unforgettable soundtracks for classics like April 1 Vidudala , Anveshana , Sagara Sangamam , Abhilasha , Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari , Siva , and Geethanjali .
