READ MORE: Madonna live in London: pop queen grapples with her legacy On Monday (November 18), Madonna took to Instagram to share a passionate post about the future of her biopic – titled Who’s That Girl – that has been in the works for four years. She wrote: “After struggling for days in LA, listening to producers and agents tell me why I couldn’t make my film — (I been working on it for 4 years!!!) downsize-down scale – think smaller – they say — I realised that everything in my life is going to be challenged.

” She continued: “I guess I should be grateful.. It forces me to think outside the box.

I did not have a normal life. I cannot make this in the normal way..

. We cannot shrink and make ourselves smaller..

. Should I make the story of my life into a series or a feature film?” See the full post below. A post shared by Madonna (@madonna) The update comes after legendary singer-songwriter revealed in July that the biopic was back in the works after spending some time on the shelf, and that she’s been rewriting the script on her own.

She is also set to direct as a way to stop “misogynistic men” from telling her story . Who’s That Girl is being titled after her 1987 album of the same title – but is not to be confused with her 1987 comedy film that shares the same name. The biopic was initially scrapped in January last year , stating that the reason may be due to her 40th anniversary ‘Celebration’ tour , which kicked off in July 2023.

However, Universal Pictures noted that they were still interested in the project, and that it was paused indefinitely until they could make it work with Madonna’s schedule. According to Entertainment Weekly , Garner is still attached to play the pop icon. During a 2022 interview with Variety , Madonna gave an update on the movie and explained why she took a more hands-on role. “I’ve had an extraordinary life, I must make an extraordinary film,” she said, adding: “No one’s going to tell my story, but me.

” In other news, it was revealed last month that Madonna has been back in the studio in London and is working with Stuart Price again. The pair have been working together for over two decades now, with his contributions to her career most recognised for her hit 2005 album ‘Confessions On A Dance Floor’. Since then he has gone on to work with her on three of her tours, and recently reconnected with her last year as part of her acclaimed ‘Celebration’ shows .

If the new material they’re working on turns out to be a new album, it’ll mark the first LP from Madonna since her 2019 release ‘Madame X’ . Related Topics Madonna Pop.
