A viral video shows the teacher giving liquor to the students as they sat in front of him. Moments later a student can also be seen consuming it. The teacher was immediately suspended after that.
A government school teacher in Madhya Pradesh’s Katni was suspended after a video of him allegedly offering liquor to his students went viral on social media, reported PTI. Identified as Lal Naveen Pratap Singh, the teacher at the government primary school in Khirhani village, was seen offering drinks to students in a room. In the video, he was also heard asking one of the students to mix water before consuming the drink.
As the video begins, the teacher can be seen pouring a liquor from a bottle into a glass. He then asks the students to consume it. A student was also seen taking a sip from the glass.
The incident came to the police’s attention after a video of the incident went viral. District collector Dilip Kumar Yadav took note of the video and ordered the district education officer, OP Singh, to take action against the teacher, as per an official cited by PTI. According to the official, the teacher was identified after the video was shared with the officials of different blocks.
He was immediately suspended under the MP Civil Services (Conduct) Rules on charges of misconduct, encouraging children to drink liquor, and tarnishing the dignity of a teacher..
