In a recent interview, Madhuri Dixit opened up about the bond she shared with Sridevi. Scroll down to read what she said. Updated: November 16, 2024 3:53 PM IST By The 1990s era of Bollywood witnessed some of the most beautiful actresses trying their luck in the industry.

From Urmila Matondkar, Juhi Chawla, and Raveena Tandon, to Madhuri Dixit, Kajol, and many more, this period was marked by immense talent and glamour. Among them, Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi stood out as iconic stars. The two divas were often compared and pitted against each other, leading to numerous rumours and speculations about their rivalry.

However, in a recent interview, Madhuri Dixit opened up about the bond she shared with Sridevi. In an interview with News18, Madhuri revealed that she had a lot of respect for Sridevi, though they didn’t have much of an opportunity to connect. She said, “We never worked together.

There was one movie that we did long back, but even then, we didn’t have any scenes together. We had different scenarios going for us in terms of our careers. Our paths never really crossed in that sense.

But, of course, we both had a lot of respect and admiration for each other. I respected her as an actor because she worked in different languages – which was amazing – and she was successful across them. She was also very sweet to me.

” For the unversed, Madhuri and Sridevi were cast in Ramesh Sippy’s Zameen (1987). However, the actresses never shared screen space, and the movie never made it to the big screens. Later, in 2000, Madhuri and Sridevi came together again for Boney Kapoor’s Pukaar.

Even then, the actresses barely exchanged words. Recalling her experience, Madhuri said, “Pukaar was Boney ji’s production. So, she was the producer of that film.

There was not much interaction between us because she was doing her own thing, and I was doing mine. We didn’t really get to talk much.” After filming Pukaar, Sridevi shared her thoughts with Madhuri.

Madhuri recalled, “After we completed Pukaar and it was released, I got married and moved to the US. That’s why there wasn’t much interaction. She entered the industry before I did, and she had been working since she was a little kid.

She worked really hard to be where she was, and I truly respected that.” Madhuri Dixit was last seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office. Apart from Madhuri, the movie also featured Kartik Aaryan, Tripti Dimri, and Vidya Balan in key roles.
