It's a holiday tradition as old as time — the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is back for its 98th edition Thursday. For almost a century, the parade has been one of the nation's most anticipated and beloved holiday celebrations. This year's parade lineup will be the most extravagant yet, with over 5,000 volunteers, 22 floats, 32 balloons, 21 performance groups and three of music's biggest stars.

Each are veteran hosts of the classic celebration, especially Roker, who has been a part of the production for 28 years. Macy's Parade performers 2024 Music and entertainment greats Jennifer Hudson, Kylie Minogue and Billy Porter will each perform during the parade in front of Macy's Herald Square flagship store. Others expected to perform include Cole Escola, Loud Luxury and "Wicked" star Cynthia Erivo, along with 11 marching bands and 10 additional performance groups.
Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade location, route There are 2.5 miles of public viewing along the parade route this year. The procession will start at West 77th Street and Central Park West at 8:30 a.
m., and will then proceed toward Central Park South before turning onto 6th Avenue for the majority of the celebration. The Parade will make its final turn onto West 34th Street and stop in front of Macy's Herald Square for the musical performances.
