Macaronage Sweets & Patisserie in downtown Collinsville announced this week that it has closed. The small bakery, located at 1003 W. Main St.

, serving French macarons and other sweet treats, shut down after less than a year in operation. Owner Courtney Horn opened the local shop last December, but said closing her doors was the right decision. “I gave it everything I had, but it is time to go home and be with my family,” Horn told the Owasso Reporter.

“I think I did everything I could to serve my community; the bakery’s just not serving me back.” Horn mainly served up macarons — meringue-based sandwich-like cookies made with egg whites, granulated sugar, almond flour and food coloring — along with cookies, cupcakes and chocolate strawberries. Horn’s longtime “love for sweets and making people smile” isn’t completely lost with the closure of her walk-in storefront, however.

She said she will continue to take custom orders and host pop-up events in her mobile trailer. People are also reading..
