The show’s host, Charo Santos-Concio, announced its return on Monday, April 7, over TV Patrol, although she clarified that it will be done in a “limited series” format.
“After two years, ‘Maalaala’ is back and it will share the beautiful stories of our letter senders of our Kapamilyas. It will be back on the 24th,” she said, disclosing where the drama will be aired. Santos-Concio said “MMK” has also been with the “new generation” of viewers, saying many Gen-Zs grew up watching the drama anthology with their parents and grandparents.
“In my heart, I knew na babalik siya. The new generation of viewers are looking forward to true-to-life stories about our Kapamilyas. Ang daming Gen-Z na lumaki na nanonood ng ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’ kasama ang kanilang mommies, daddies, lolas, and lolos so I’m so happy that they really know [‘MMK’] as a brand of good storytelling,” she said.

The former ABS-CBN CEO also teased that aside from Vasquez, a life story on one of the members of P-pop powerhouse BINI will also be aired. She also disclosed that Elijah Canlas will portray the “The Voice USA” season 26 winner.
Vasquez previously said during his Star Magic contract signing last February that he wanted Canlas to portray him in a life story, citing his acting prowess. The drama anthology’s return was also announced on ABS-CBN PR’s social media platforms, including a video of Santos-Concio seated in its set. “‘Dear Charo.
Iba kasi talaga ang totoong kwento, hindi ba?” she said. (“Dear Charo.” I missed saying that line.
I missed you all too. We will be back together soon. We prepared a lot of beautiful and inspiring stories, which you can all relate to.
Listening to real-life stories is a different experience, right?)
