September 23, 1940 - March 27, 2025 It is with heavy hearts we share that Lynne Linderman passed away at her Corvallis home of 52 years surrounded by family on March 27, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, Nana, and friend. Lynne was born on September 23, 1940 in Spokane, WA to Gordon and Carna Minter.

Soon thereafter, the family moved to San Diego, CA where Lynne's love of the beach began. After the divorce of her parents, Lynne, her mom, and younger brother Bruce moved to Atascadero, CA to live with her maternal grandparents, Myrtle Nellie and Walter Hanson, who quickly became influential people in her life. Eventually, Lynne's mom remarried and the family relocated to Crescent City, CA where she would eventually meet her lifelong friend, Billie Joan Shawl, and the love of her life, Robert Linderman.

After graduating from Del Norte High School in 1958, Lynne attended Mills College in Oakland, CA. During a summer break in 1960, she returned to Crescent City and while driving through downtown nearly crashed into Bob Linderman. He asked her out on a date and this began a love affair spanning 64 wonderful years.

They were married on December 17th, 1961. Lynne and Bob had three children together: Matt, their son and eldest, was born in Berkeley, CA in 1967. As they followed Bob's career path, their daughters, Stacey and Tami, were born a few years later in Washington, DC and Silver Spring, MD respectively.

Lynne's three children were everything to her. She was a loving parent and their fierce advocate. Among many other roles, she was a PTA president, Girl Scout leader, Job's Daughters Guardian, and Cub Scout Den Leader.

She was a strong presence in her children's classrooms and worked tirelessly to bring special projects and activities to inspire young learners. Lynne's friends would all say that she was the proudest of grandmothers to her fourteen grandchildren, whom she loved to brag about. She was a Nana who always showed up, regardless of her own health struggles.

She never wanted to miss a birthday or a sports event or a school concert for her grandkids, and loved treating them to ice cream and taking them on adventures. In addition to being a devoted mother, Lynne was an amazing wife and partner to Bob in every way, especially in support of his professional career as a plant pathologist. Lynne organized many parties at Bob's USDA lab and was affectionately known by the staff as his "girlfriend".

At home, she was the glue that held everything together, even when Bob was traveling, always eagerly anticipating his return. Their loving bond was remarkable and noted by all. Lynne was an avid volunteer, dedicating countless hours to the OSU Folk Club Thrift Shop and the Assistance League of Corvallis.

Twenty-two years ago she developed the concept of Winter's Eve Corvallis- an event to support Assistance League's programs for children - and that event is still going strong today. Her fellow volunteers agree that she was a force to be reckoned with and accomplished amazing things for her community. Lynne is survived by her husband, Bob, and her three children and their families: Matt & Raquel Linderman and their children Alli, Ryan, Elise, and Emily; Stacey & Doug Reese and their children Josh, Trevor, and Grace; and Tami & Mike Speten and their children Alayna, Sarina, GG, Elliana, Cooper, Benny, and Ana.

Lynne will be remembered by all those that love her for her quick wit and immense devotion to family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Sign up to get the most recent local obituaries delivered to your inbox.
