Ludhiana: Monday, March 31, marks the final day for Ludhiana residents to pay their property tax and water-sewer bills without incurring penalties or interest. Municipal corporation (MC) officials reported that as of Sunday afternoon, the civic body had collected a little more than Rs 149.10 crore against its annual target of Rs 150 crore.

Despite March 31 being a government holiday for Eid-al-Fitr, the MC has decided to keep its zonal suvidha kendras open to facilitate last-minute taxpayers. Residents who fail to make payments by the deadline will face a 20 percent penalty and an 18 percent annual interest charge. Appeal from Civic Officials Mayor Inderjit Kaur and MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal urged residents to clear their outstanding dues on time to avoid penalties.

They emphasized that tax revenue directly funds essential development projects and basic amenities in the city. To assist residents, Suvidha Kendras remained open over the weekend and will continue operations on Monday. For added convenience and to avoid long queues, residents can also make payments online at www.
