
Lucy Olsen scored a season-high 32 points to lead the Iowa women’s basketball team to an 81-66 win against Nebraska on Monday at Pinnacle Bank Arena. It's the Hawkeyes' fifth straight win. Nebraska native Taylor McCabe added 17 points, including going 3 for 4 on 3-pointers in the third quarter when Iowa widened a three-point halftime lead to 14.
She finished with five 3-pointers. Nebraska lost its third straight game to drop to 7-6 in Big Ten play. The Huskers and Hawkeyes split the season series — Nebraska beat Iowa in overtime last month.
Iowa made 12 3-pointers on just 24 attempts. Nebraska finished with just 18 field goals while going 23 for 29 on free throws. Alberte Rimdal led the Huskers with 20 points.
Alexis Markowski added 15. Olsen made her first three shots as Iowa fired out to an 11-2 lead. By the middle of the second quarter, Nebraska had rallied from a nine-point deficit and tied the game at 24 on a 3-pointer by Petra Bozan.
