NAPA — "Songs for a New World," a musical by Jason Robert Brown, will be presented by Lucky Penny Productions as a special fundraising event. Featuring four well-known Bay Area performers, the production will be live for two performances only, 7:30 p.m.

"Songs for A New World" blends pop, folk, gospel and musical theater styles to create a journey through the moments that matter in our shared human experience – from courtship to divorce, parenthood to losing a child. The show debuted in New York in 1995 as Brown’s first major work before he went on to win three Tony Awards for his work on "Parade," "The Last 5 Years" and "The Bridges of Madison County.

" The fundraising performances will feature notable Bay Area performers. • Kaylee Miltersen, who has recently performed with Hillbarn Theatre, Ray of Light Theatre and Presidio Theatre and runs a private voice studio in San Francisco. • Jessica Coker, who has performed at Berkeley Playhouse, SF Playhouse, Ray of Light Theatre and Broadway by the Bay among many others.

• Roeen Nooran, who has been seen at Ray of Light Theatre, American Conservatory Theatre and with SFBATCO's New Roots Festival. • Jaron Vesely, who is a veteran of shows at Berkeley Playhouse, 42nd Street Moon, Feinstein's and Hillbarn Theatre, and has performed on New York stages as well as appearing in "Gossip Girl." • Music Director Jad Bernardo, who has served as faculty/staff/coach at New York University and Adelphi University and has credits spanning the East Coast and the Bay Area.

“Songs for a New World in Concert" will be presented as a benefit for Lucky Penny Productions and for the American Civil Liberties Union. All seats are $50 and are available at www.luckypennynapa.
