Rishabh Pant’s batting form will be in focus as Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) take on Mumbai Indians (MI) on Friday in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 . The most expensive player in the history of IPL, Pant has only scored 17 runs in three innings, with his team losing two of three matches so far in IPL 2025. Another defeat will pile up more pressure on LSG who went out of the way and spent Rs 27 crore to acquire Pant as a replacement for KL Rahul, who was released before the IPL 2025 mega auction.
LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka is known for micromanaging things and there are concerns that another defeat could derail LSG’s IPL 2025 campaign. Mumbai Indians, meanwhile, come to Lucknow after winning their first IPL 2025 match on Monday, against Kolkata Knight Riders.
