Venice Puzon had all of the Lady Pirates' 19 excellent sets as five players scored in double digits for the Intramuros-based squad. Joan Doguna and Heart Bio had 15 points apiece for the Lady Pirates, while Johna Dolorito was a force on offense and defense with 12 points, along with 13 digs and seven excellent receptions.

Hiromi Osada and Jaja Tulang had 11 and 10 points, respectively. The Lady Pirates won their first match against Emilio Aguinaldo College then lost all their games afterwards before this victory. LPU will hope to end its first round campaign on a high note when it goes against Jose Rizal University on Thursday.



Reyann Cañete had 19 points to lead the Lady Red Spikers who still could not break through after nine games. San Beda, with Joshua Noda listed as head coach since March 27, will have to find answers when they return for the second round of the tournament. —JKC, GMA Integrated News.
