An LPG cylinder truck burst into flames on NH-16 while passing through the Ganjam district of Odisha early Thursday morning. The incident was reported from the Puintala Chhak area under Ganjam Police Station limits where a sudden blaze completely engulfed the truck's engine. However, the driver narrowly escaped unharmed.
As per sources, the truck caught fire unexpectedly while it was on its way from Bhubaneswar to Berhampur . Additionally, preliminary reports from the Fire Services officials suggested that a short circuit may have caused the fire.
No comments could be obtained from senior police officials or other rescue teams involved in the operation. The latest incident of a truck mishap follows a series of such events being reported from several places across Odisha. A speeding truck rammed into a jewellery shop and ran over an on-duty security personnel at Patna Chowk in Bolangir on Tuesday.
