A Cornwall woman described as a great nan, loving sister and adored mother has passed away following a short illness. Deborah Bale, 63, of St Columb Major, passed away peacefully on March 25. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, an indomitable spirit and a keen tennis and rugby fan to the end. Barbara was the driving force behind the creation of the tennis courts in Christow in the 1970s, having gained her teaching degree from Nonington College in 1949. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Christow Church, EX6 7LZ: Tuesday April 15th at 12.

F.A. Joan was married to Clifford on 31st March 1956 at Cliftonville Presbyterian Church, Belfast.
Future moves included to Mossley, Essex and eventually settling in Paignton. Joan was a primary school teacher and loved taking assemblies for the children. Her favourite reading is from Isaiah 53 verse 6 "We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
" A service to celebrate the life of Joan will be held at Palace Avenue Methodist Church, Paignton, on Wednesday 16th April at 12.00 noon. All welcome.
