Media Release Mangaluru, Jan 26: Lourdes Central School organized road safety awareness program for class 7 students on January 24 in LCS Conference Hall from was an impactful and engaging event. 190 students participated along with their class and subject teachers. It began with a prayer, followed by a warm welcome from Nathan John of class 7A, who introduced the esteemed resource experts, Anand E, the police inspector of Traffic East Police Station, Kadri, Mangaluru and Vijayaraj, the police sub-inspector of Traffic East Police Station, Kadri, Mangaluru.
The chief guests, in their enlightening talk, shared real-life incidents to emphasize the perils of negligence, over speeding, and carelessness on the roads. They provided students with actionable safety measures, such as wearing seat belts and using zebra crossings, creating a strong foundation for responsible behaviour on the road. They also highlighted the importance of awareness about the POCSO Act and stressed the need for students to understand the difference between good and bad touch to ensure their personal safety.
The principal took a moment to commend the traffic police inspector for their dedication to safeguarding lives and emphasized the critical need to follow traffic rules. The interactive session that followed was a highlight, with the traffic inspector addressing students' questions and providing insightful clarifications. Rayan Hameed of class 7B delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of the guest, organizers, and participants.
Compering of the program was done by Shradha Arbi of class 7C. The event concluded with a motivational statement that inspired students to adopt practical safety practices and prioritize their well-being. The session was a success in promoting road safety awareness and personal safety, leaving a lasting impression on young minds.
