HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. — On Thursday, February 13, at 6 P.

M., the Louis Miller Museum invites you to an eye-opening program presented by Phyllis Chapman, exploring the vital but often overlooked roles of women during the American Revolution. While much has been written about the Founding Fathers — figures like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin—less attention is given to the women who helped shape the early years of the nation.

In this program, titled Revolutionary Women, Chapman will shed light on the significant contributions of mothers, daughters, wives, and independent ladies during this pivotal time in history. “We often hear about legendary figures like Abigail Adams and Molly Pitcher, but there were so many other women whose courage, resilience, and intelligence were crucial to the American Revolution,” said Chapman. “This program aims to bring those untold stories into the spotlight.

” Chapman will delve into the lives of these often-forgotten women, whose efforts ranged from supporting soldiers on the frontlines to running farms and businesses at home, all while navigating the complexities of a nation at war. Her program will explore the varied and important roles women played behind the scenes, challenging the conventional narrative of Revolutionary America. The event will include a presentation followed by a discussion, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts on the powerful impact of women in the nation’s founding.

The Louis Miller Museum is located on 166 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. Admission to the event is free.
