The Nigerian lottery industry added over N200bn to the country’s Gross Domestic Product in 2023, according to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas. The announcement was made in Abuja during the launch of Mr Lottery: The Story of Lanre Gbajabiamila @ 60, a biography authored by the Director-General of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Lanre Gbajabiamila. According to a statement, Abbas, who was represented by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, praised the lottery sector’s transformation under Gbajabiamila’s leadership.
