On Tuesday, January 7, amid life-threatening, high-speed winds across Los Angeles, multiple wildfires broke out, including a fire in Pacific Palisades that later spread to Malibu and also in Eaton Canyon, near Altadena. Mandatory evacuation orders have been put in place for the surrounding neighborhoods, including the northern edge of Santa Monica, Topanga Canyon, and Altadena. On the evening of January 7, Malibu restaurants Reel Inn, Cholada Thai, and Rosenthal Winery’s tasting room burnt down.

Numerous others have temporarily closed due to power outages, evacuation mandates, or out of caution. Additionally, DoorDash has suspended service to affected areas. The Los Angeles Metro remains operational and will not be collecting fares on January 8.

Amid these closures, some restaurants in less-impacted areas remain open. As the situation is still rapidly evolving, be sure to check local news sources, Los Angeles County websites and social media accounts for advisories, and the latest evacuation information before traveling to these restaurants.
