Residents waking up today experienced overcast skies, which were expected to gradually clear out, reaching a pleasant high near 79 degrees. The east southeast wind was mild earlier in the day, shifting to west southwest in the afternoon as reported by the National Weather Service.
The city will witness similar weather patterns as the week progresses; patchy fog is expected to consistently appear before 11:00 a.m. across the next few days.
Cloud coverage will increase tonight, settling down to a cooler low around 54 degrees. "Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, increasing clouds," the forecast projects, with the temperature expected to stay roughly steady through midweek.
By Wednesday, the sun should fight to briefly emerge again with the clearing of morning clouds, as temperatures dip slightly to a high near 71 degrees. The consistent fog presence will mark early mornings and late nights, set against a backdrop of increasing clouds and west southwest winds calming in the evening.The latter part of the week will gradually cool down.
On Thursday, residents will experience patchy fog before 11:00 a.m. Otherwise, the weather will be partly sunny, with a high near 69.
Winds will stay mild as the pattern of fog and cloudiness continues into the weekend. Friday and Saturday will hover around the same temperatures, while Sunday introduces a chance of rain to the city.As the chance for rain increases slightly, Los Angeles will see temperatures falling modestly.
Sunday's outlook anticipates "a slight chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 67," before the new week opens up partly sunny with highs near 69 degrees, according to the NWS.
