DALLAS — It's a pretty crazy weather week we've been facing -- not just here in North Texas, but across the country , really. At least two tornados touched down throughout the Midwest and South on Tuesday, and forecasters are warning that Wednesday could bring more of the same -- tornado chances, high winds and even potentially deadly flooding -- to the same regions. The Oklahoma-based Storm Prediction Center says more than 90 million people across an area spanning from Texas to Minnesota and Maine are at some risk of severe weather today.
There's a reason why WFAA meteorologists declared Tuesday a Weather Alert Day, and done the same for Thursday, Friday and now Saturday, too. With the possibility up to golf ball-sized hail, 60-plus-mile-per-hour winds, heavy rain and even a low tornado threat in our weather team's forecast , it's important that people in Dallas-Fort Worth and beyond are weather-aware as we head into the rest of this week. It's no surprise that events are already being canceled , flights are being delayed and municipalities across the region are adjusting some plans they'd previously had in place .
That's why WFAA Meteorologist Jesse Hawila is going live on WFAA+ on Wednesday night at 7:15 -- to help walk viewers through what to expect of the overnight storms heading into Thursday morning, as well as what Friday morning and Saturday early morning's systems could bring. He'll even be answering questions directly from you about what's in store! To have your question considered for answering, drop Jesse a comment on this post to his Facebook page or a reply to this post he put up on X . Then? Just tune into WFAA+ to get the full scoop on the weather headed our way.
