April 29 Post Malone’s big launch Singer-rapper Post Malone is launching his stadium-sized “Big A-- World Tour” in his adopted home state of Utah, with a concert Tuesday at Rice-Eccles Stadium , 451 S. 1400 East, Salt Lake City. He’s expected to play songs from his country album, “F-1 Trillion.

” Also on the bill are Jelly Roll and Sierra Ferrell . Show starts at 7:30 p.m.



The show is nearly sold out, but some tickets (as well as resale tickets) are available at ticketmaster.com . May 2-17 What baking can do at PTC Pioneer Theatre Company is starting its production of “Waitress” on Friday, at Pioneer Memorial Theatre, 300 S.

1400 East, Salt Lake City. PTC is the first Utah company to present the Tony-nominated 2016 musical, based on director Adrienne Shelly’s 2007 movie that follows Jenna, a pie baker and waitress in a Southern diner stuck in a bad marriage — but given a chance for a better life through the cash prize from a pie-baking contest. Music and lyrics by pop star Sara Bareilles, with the book written by Jessie Nelson.

May 2 Eighteen holes of Pixar A pop-up 18-hole mini-golf course, featuring characters and images from Pixar animated movies, is opening Friday at Mountain View Village , 13303 S. Teal Ridge Way, Riverton. The course, called Pixar Putt , references such movies as “Toy Story,” “The Incredibles,” “Monsters, Inc.

,” Finding Nemo,” “Coco,” “A Bug’s Life,” “Wall-E” and “Inside Out.” The pop-up has a limited run, through Sept. 1.

For information and to book a tee time, go to pixarputt.com . May 3-11 A new take on ‘Madame Butterfly’ Utah Opera takes on Puccini’s “Madame Butterfly,” one of the most famous and problematic operas in the canon, with a new production, debuting Saturday at 7:30 p.

m. at the Capitol Theatre, 50 W. 200 South, Salt Lake City.

The production’s creative team consists entirely of artists who are Japanese or Japanese American, and tells the story of the geisha Cio-Cio-San and the American naval officer Pinkerton through “the fantastical realm of virtual reality,” according to Utah Opera’s program notes. Performances are also scheduled for May 5, 7, 9 and 11; go to utahopera.org for information and tickets.
