BELAGA (Sept 8): The upgrading project of the logging road to Metalun Resettlement (Phase 6) and the proposed construction of a new road to Sungai Asap Resettlement Scheme will begin soon, says Murum assemblyman Kennedy Chukpai Ugon. The highly anticipated projects, he said, are much needed by the local communities.

“These will fulfill their wish of having good road connectivity,” he said, thus calling on the constituents to cooperate to ensure the smooth implementation of the projects. “The government’s approval of this project also shows its strong commitment to develop the infrastructure in the rural areas,” he said at a coordination meeting for both projects at the Public Works Department premises here on Friday. Also present were Kapit Division engineer Jawa Gara and assistant engineer Christopher Donovan.
