Logan Shettel’s game-tying home run helps Red Land softball down Lower Dauphin in extras

Red Land's Logan Shettel blasted a 2 run home run to tie the game and send it to extras, in which the Patriots would walk it off.

Logan Shettel’s 2-run blast in the bottom of the 7th inning sent the game to extras Wednesday afternoon. Lydia Laur would score the winning run in the bottom of the 9th on an error to cap off the 6-5 come-from-behind victory. • Sign up for PennLive’s daily high school sports newsletter Shettel had a great day for the Patriots, going 3-for-5 and adding a double on top of her homer.

Karmel Wilson, Reagan Gossard, and Keira Gibson all drove in a run apiece for the Patriots. Red Land’s Addie Wagenheim pitched the complete 9 innings, giving up 5 runs (2 earned) on 9 hits and punching out 3. Anece Zubler led the way for the Falcons, going 3-for-5 with a double and 2 runs driven in.



Pitcher Carissa Wenner drove in 2 more on a single. Wenner pitched 7 innings, giving up 5 earned runs on 10 hits and striking out 4 before being relieved by Sadie Borelli in extras. The Patriots move to 7-1 with the victory, as the Falcons drop to 6-2.
