This Senate subcommittee isn’t concerned that their games could damage our state’s credit rating, affect our ability to borrow long-term money for infrastructure and other projects, or lessen our ability to attract job-producing industries to South Carolina. They simply want control over your money, and that is unacceptable. They want to take away the voters’ right to protect their money and replace me with an appointed treasurer — one the elites control.
I stand between your hard-earned money and these self-serving politicians who want to squander it on insider deals and political ambitions. Their attack isn’t about accountability; it’s about control. This small group of senators sees the state treasury as a goldmine, and they’re itching to get their hands on it.
