Abhishek (L) & Abhinandan Lodha MUMBAI: The mother may know the best in the Lodha vs Lodha case. Real estate scions Abhishek and Abhinandan Lodha , who are in the midst of a court battle over trademark violations, have been instructed by their mother Manju through a letter to end the feud immediately. This comes at a time when the Bombay high court has called for a mediation between the two parties.

' Lodha Developers ' and 'Macrotech' are the two major brands owned by the Lodha family. The group's founder Mangal Prabhat Lodha - Abhishek and Abhinandan's father - is a minister in the Maharashtra govt and one of the richest Indians. The letter is significant since it says that a family agreement signed in 2017 is the one that should be abided by.

Papers filed with the court had cited a 2023 family agreement. In her letter, Manju has put in six directives for the brothers. These include bringing an end to all their disputes, respecting and helping each other.

She also asked the brothers to not interfere in each other's businesses. She told the brothers that their father and she had discussed their claims with respect to the shareholding and ownership of each other's businesses. "The final arrangement within our family was documented in our Amended Family Agreement (on March 31, 2017).

We confirm that both of you have no right of any form in the other brother's business or assets or shareholding." Abhishek's listed company, Macrotech Developers , has filed a lawsuit against House of Abhinandan Lodha, claiming trademark infringement and seeking Rs 5,000 crore in damages. Responding to the letter, Abhinandan said that he was disappointed that the letter was being shared with people outside the immediate family "for ulterior motives and to create a false narrative".

In an email from his company, Abhinandan said that he believed that family matters should not be settled in public. "This is the reason he chose to maintain a dignified silence for over 10 years. He does hope that his family honours all commitments made to him.

Since the issues are under mediation, we would not like to state anything else at this stage," the email said. Stay informed with the latest business news, updates on bank holidays and public holidays . Decode charts & maximise your stock market earnings | Register Today!.
