Eric Dixon scored 23 points to lead Villanova to a 93-49 win over Penn on Tuesday night. Dixon also added six rebounds for the Wildcats (3-3). Wooga Poplar scored 19 points, hitting five 3-pointers.
Jhamir Brickus added 16 points. For Penn (2-3), Michael Zanoni had a team-high nine points. Drexel 67, Fairfield 61 Shane Blakeney came off the bench to score 16 points and pull down nine rebounds, and help carry Drexel to the victory over host Fairfield.
Yame Butler scored 14 points, Kobe Magee added 12 points. The Stags (2-3) were led by Prophet Johnson, who posted 12 points, nine rebounds, six assists and four steals. Louis Bleechmore also scored 12 for Fairfield.
Neumann 84, Valley Forge 70 Gary Francis came off the bench to score 22 points and collect seven rebounds to help lead Neumann to the nearby road win. The Knights finished a season opening five-game road cruise with a 4-1 record, and play at home Wednesday against Widener. Bryan Etienne finished with a double-double, picking up 19 points and 11 rebounds, along with five assists.
Senior T.J. Lewis scored 20 points, while Jarell Keel grabbed 15 rebounds.
Women’s Basketball Jazmyn Kemp hit on a layup with 3.7 seconds remaining, lifting Penn State Brandywine to a 53-51 win over Penn State York on Tuesday night. York had two possessions during the final three seconds, but a three-pointer was off the mark, clinching the Neumann win.
Trinell Watson led the Lions with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Interboro grad Sierra Diawara scored 10 points. Kemp had eight points.
Neumann 57, Albright 52 Senior Lauren Klieber scored 18 points, including a run of 15 of 16 free throws, to leads the Knights. Aubrie Breisblatt added 16 points, while Emily DuPont scored 14 points and pulled down 13 rebounds..
