For Ramadan, Flock at W Kuala Lumpur will feature lobster in a few of their popular, in-demand dishes such as Lobster Popiah Basah, Lobster Curry Laksa, Singapore Fried Chilli Lobster and Roti John Lobster. Diners who love this crustacean will indeed be spoilt for choice as this premium ingredient is cleverly prepared and cooked in bold flavours.

Assorted sashimi and sushi for those who enjoy Japanese food. The buffet themed “Bazaar Malam” blends Pan-Asian, Middle Eastern and Malaysian cuisines, bringing together the rich traditions of three diverse culinary cultures. The Middle Eastern offerings elevate the feast, starting with a vibrant mezze platter (a selection of small dishes served as appetisers), including Lamb and Pomegranate Mint Salad and Chicken Chickpeas Couscous Salad.



These are paired with hummus, tabbouleh and mutabal (an eggplant dip with smoky flavours). A selection of kerabu and local salads to begin a meal with at Flock in W Kuala Lumpur. One may feel a palpable heat in the air when passing a section of the restaurant housing the flame oven, which showcases the slow-cooked Lamb Ouzi with Spiced Basmati Rice and freshly baked Flat Bread with Garlic Zaatar and Cheese.

The kebab selection offers a variety of expertly grilled options, such as Chicken Doner with Chilli Pepper Sauce, Tavuk Sis (chicken shish kebab), Adana Kofte (lamb kebab) and Beef Koobideh (beef kebab). They can be paired with flavourful dips to complement every bite, including cacik (yogurt cucumber dip), ezme (chopped roasted peppers with onions and coriander) and garlic sauce. The hotel’s chef de cuisine Anas Luqman said they brought back the Roti John Lobster as many people loved it.

Wagyu Beef Bao Bun with Korean BBQ Sauce comes with an optional kimchi pairing for a spicier kick. “We were the first hotel to have it two years ago. Since it is a trending dish, we are bringing it back this year,” he said.

A twist on the traditional roti john, this version with lobster takes the humble sandwich to new heights, with fresh lobster grilled and served in a toasted sandwich bun. The meat is complemented with aromatic seasonings and spices, offering a delicate balance of sweet and savoury flavours. Flock’s charcoal grill section offers grilled seafood and meats like tiger prawns, squid, seabass and mahi mahi, enhanced by signature sauces such as tangy tamarind, zesty lime chilli basil, bold soy chilli garlic and refreshing Nam Jim Jaew (Thai chilli dipping sauce).

Roti John Lobster takes the humble sandwich to new heights. For a quintessential Malaysian experience, there is the much-loved chicken and beef satay, paired with peanut sauce and chilli sambal, accompanied with nasi impit, cucumber and onion. A signature dish diners should look out for is the spicy, flavour- packed Lobster Curry Laksa.

The StarMetro team definitely loved the Lobster Popiah Basah, with the lobster adding an interesting twist to the usual spring roll. One dish that caught our eyes was the Wagyu Beef Bao Bun with Korean BBQ Sauce. Diners who can handle spicy food should pair it with the kimchi that gives it a spicier kick.
