The Asda store in Llandudno Junction has confirmed its re-opening date after four months of closure.

THE ASDA store in Llandudno Junction has confirmed its re-opening date after four months of closure. The Conway Road store sustained significant damage to its interior after a fire on December 17. Six fire crews battled the blaze for almost four hours, in which the store sustained damage to its roof and the , much of which is blackened by smoke.

A viral video (below) shows the damage that was done to the store, leading to four months of work to repair the store. Asda has now confirmed the store will re-open on May 2, almost five months after the fire took place. Martin Chard, general store manager at Llandudno Junction, said staff had missed serving the community, and thanked workers and emergency services for their efforts in helping the store "get back up and running".



He said: "We’ve missed serving the local community and are excited to be today reopening and welcoming our customers back into store following our brief closure. "I’d like to say thanks to all our fantastic colleagues and the local emergency services for their incredible efforts in getting us back up and running. “I also want to extend my gratitude to the wonderful team at our nearby Llandudno Superstore for ensuring our customers felt welcomed and had access to Asda’s unbeatable value while we were closed.

"We can’t wait to welcome you back into Llandudno Junction!” Asda said despite the majority of the store being back up and running, its Click & Collect service will return at a later date..
