Times News Network Ludhiana: Employees of Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) staged a protest against registration of FIR against Jalandhar Improvement Trust employees. The demonstration was held for two hours on Tuesday at the Feroze Gandhi Market office. LIT employees claimed it was not justified to get FIRs registered against employees instead of conducting an inquiry in the case.

Police filed cases against former estate officer, a few officials and clerks of the trust on a complaint filed by Jalandhar Improvement Trust chairman Jagtar Sanghera. He alleged that wrongful registries had been done by the office about seven to eight years back. The protest was carried out at all Improvement Trust offices in the state.

LIT officials said that they would protest for two hours every day till the FIR against employees was cancelled. LIT officials asked how FIRs were lodged against the employees without inquiry. They asserted that if they did not resist, this would become a matter of routine.
