The track was written about a friend’s experience “dating a mega-narcissist”.
Yesterday night (April 1), Abrams released the recording of the O2 Arena performance, which marks the only time she’s played the track thus far. You can listen to the song below, which has been accompanied by live footage of the performance as well as its lyrics.“How will it end? How long will you give me? / ‘Til you twist the knife with a smile while you kill me,” Abrams croons.
“And you ask me to dance if there’s someone around / You don’t look the same when I look at you now.”It is unclear when the official studio version of ‘Death Wish’ will be made available, but it marks the singer’s first release since Gracie Abrams 2024 album ‘The Secret Of Us’. Prior to the live recording’s release, she featured on Selena Gomez’s and Benny Blanco’s ‘Call Me When You Break Up’ in February.
